The Cowboys rebounded in a big, big way by absolutely dominating the Jacksonville Jaguars by the tune of 40-7. The offense played wonderful against the league’s top defense and the defense held the Jags to only one scoring possession. It was certainly refreshing to see what this team Youth Byron Jones Jersey can do when everything clicks.Let’s take a look at how the rookies performed in the first dominating victory of their young careers. Hint: they, as did mostly everyone else on the team, turned in solid performances on the day.Leighton Vander EschThe Cowboys defense had a history of dropping off when Sean Lee went down with injury. The General would hold the unit together and kept things from going bad until he suffered an injury and had to miss time. That’s not the case any longer.Between Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith, the Dallas Cowboys have gotten excellent play from its linebackers in the absence of their All-Pro linebacker. In the case of LVE, the rookie has played beyond his years for the Cowboys while leading Dallas in tackles in each of the past four games since Lee went down versus the Seahawks.Vander Esch again turned in a pretty impressive performance for the Cowboys, making open-field tackles and reading where Blake Bortles was going with the football. While the rookie was not perfect, he again played well on Sunday. If LVE continues to play at this level, the Cowboys will have a tough decision (but great situation) to make when Sean Lee returns from injury.Connor WilliamsThe rookie offensive guard has played mostly well for the Dallas Cowboys during the first few games of his debut season in the NFL. While some would like to point out his mistakes, the Texas Longhorns product has been a solid piece to the interior of the offensive line. Williams again had a solid performance on Sunday versus the league’s top-ranked defense. He did not do anything that will end up on SportsCenter, but the guard made some key plays that allowed positive things to happen for the Cowboys. First , he helped out an All-Pro left tackle to change a potential sack into yards for the offense. Then, he perfectly executed a pull, which threw off the Jaguars linebackers and opened up a big running lane for Ezekiel Elliott’s touchdown to make the score 37-7 at the time.It appears that the rookie is becoming more and more comfortable as each game comes and goes.Michael GallupThe Cowboys’ third-round rookie wide receiver has shown some flashes here and there during his young career, and he again showed a little bit of what he can do when given the opportunity. Before Dallas went on to dominate the league’s top-ranked defense, the offense had an opening drive that resulted in a field goal after driving down the field. On the opening drive, Dak Prescott found his rookie target for a big 27-yard gain that featured the former Colorado State Rams star make an impressive grab over Jaguars All-Pro cornerback A.J. Bouye:I repeat: that catch was made against an All-Pro corner! Gallup finished the game with just that one catch, but he shows that he can become a receiving threat for Dak Prescott as he progresses in this offense. It was almost two catches on the day and a touchdown for Gallup, but he just failed to get a second foot down on the play before Prescott scored on a run. Dorance Armstrong Jr.Dorance Armstrong made his first career start on Sunday as the Cowboys were cautious with DeMarcus Lawrence, and he did not disappoint. The former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year possesses upside to develop into a quality defensive end for the Cowboys, and he has been a solid contributor in the trenches so far in his young career.Armstrong won’t be a guy that is going to fill up the stat-sheet, but the young end did record two tackles on the day:Armstrong’s growth and upside has to be exciting for the Cowboys defensive staff , especially when considering just how much talent is already in that defensive line room. The Dallas Cowboys will be on the the big stage this week as they host the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football. It’s a special game for a lot of reasons. It will give fans their first look at new wide receiver Amari Cooper who the Cowboys acquired via trade with the Oakland Raiders. It will also be a time to honor legendary tight end Jason Witten as he makes his first ever broadcast of the team he’s spent the last 15 years playing for. While those things bring some excitement for Cowboys fans, it’s very important that the Cowboys come away with the W on Monday night so they can stay in the playoff hunt at the midway point. How can the Cowboys emerge victorious? Well, the BTB writing staff offers up their guess as to who will be the x-factor on Monday night.Tom Ryle: Michael GallupI’m going back to the same X-factor I had in the Washington game, Michael Gallup. If Scott Linehan uses Amari Cooper correctly, his arrival can really change the ways other defenses approach the Cowboys. Before this, the main receiving threat other teams focused on was Cole Beasley. Now, he is likely to become the number two concern, with Cooper the big gun. And that means there won’t be a lot of double coverage for Gallup to contend with. We saw the first glimpse of what he can become in the first half of the last game. Now, with the attention split with the other receivers, Gallup is going to be open more than ever. I think he is going to make the most of that.Michael Sisemore: Tyron SmithFor this week, give me Tyron Smith Youth Allen Hurns Jersey , the All-Pro left tackle. If we’re to believe some of the whispers, Tyron wasn’t a fan of his now former line coach or his technique preferences. Well, Alexander is now unemployed so he’s out of the picture and it’s time for Tyron Smith to show that he’s still that guy. The Titans defense may be long in the tooth but it’s still a group of talented veterans. Smith and his counterpart La’el Collins need to prove that their regression this season was just a product of a bad marriage. If it truly was just a styles clash in philosophy, expect Tyron Smith to go back to that aggressive style that has allowed him to dominate his opponents.Danny Phantom: Jaylon SmithWhen Day 2 of the 2016 NFL Draft arrived, I was expecting the Cowboys to select one of the top defensive ends remaining on the board - either Emmanuel Ogbah or Kevin Dodd. Surprisingly both those players were the first two guys picked in the second round. The Titans actually picked Dodd, much to the dismay of many Cowboys fans who felt that the front office panicked when all the edge rushers were gone, and took too big of a risk by selecting injured linebacker Jaylon Smith.Well, Dodd isn’t in the league anymore, but Smith is and he’s finally making fans feel good about the pick. The Titans don’t have many weapons on offense, but the ones they do have are going to test the Cowboys linebacker group. With the quick receiving back in Dion Lewis combined with the elusive Marcus Mariota, the trio of Smith Cheap Zack Martin Jersey , Sean Lee, and rookie Leighton Vander Esch will need to make plays to keep the Titans offense from moving the ball. Jaylon has come up big against both of the Cowboys AFC South opponents this year, with a forced fumble and key fourth down stop to his credit. Look for Smith to have another swipe-worthy play against the Titans.Dave Halprin: Scott Linehan. Yup, I said it. The much-maligned offensive coordinator is going to look like a genius by the end of the night. The Titans have a great scoring defense, but the Cowboys are going to explode on offense. Amari Cooper will be seen as the main reason, everyone will say he opened the offense up. But much of the credit should go to Linehan as he uses the bye week to re-tool some things in the offensvie game plan and the Cowboys players will take advantage.
